Neue Zuericher Zeitung (Switzerland)

"Season in Russian football further worsened the image of the country hosting the 2018 World Cup. None of the Russian clubs made it to the quarterfinals of European competition. Three clubs have been penalized for failing to comply with Financial Fair Play rules. Only 11,384 spectators come to the matches on average. In Yaroslavl, Spartak fans showed a swastika, in Moscow they shouted at Yaya Toure, and Zenit fans completely disrupted the last game. Violence in football is the biggest problem. But it doesn't look like anyone is doing it."

Svenskafans.com (Sweden)

“Zenith's punishment for failing to comply with Financial Fair Play rules raises questions about the future of the club. In order to continue to live in a big way, Zenit needs to earn money on its own, without the help of influential owners. The biggest problem is the very low telecontract amounts. And it turns out: to keep ambitions big club, "Zenith" has only one thing left - to regularly get into the Champions League and earn as much as possible there.

"Sportcafe24" (Italy)

“The leader of the Russian team at the World Cup will be Dzagoev. This is not a typical Russian introvert. Throughout his career, he has struggled with his not-too-adult character. If it were not for this character of an extrovert, Dzagoev would have played in a European top club for a long time.

Forbes (USA)

“The off-season at the Washington Capitals is the worst. The team was left without a general manager, without a coach. And now without Ovechkin? Skipping the Stanley Cup cost the club an estimated $2 million per game. But losing Ovechkin to injury could be even more painful.”

Bleacher Report (USA)

“Maria Sharapova is unbeatable on clay. For three years she did not lose on this surface to anyone except Serena Williams. And now the clay champion in Rome was beaten by Ana Ivanovic. The match should be reviewed by all tennis players whose name is not Serena and who are going to compete for victory at Roland Garros. Only a loss to Ivanovic is perhaps a real blessing for Sharapova - she will have a good rest before Paris.

It won't be long before the World Cup in Russia.

And the people have somehow lost interest in football. It's time to raise the interest of the masses.

Phrases about a "non-football" and "unsportsmanlike" country from the lips of leading coaches and players will hardly achieve this.

But through humor - that's it. Ideally, one that clings to ordinary housewives. To "mock" our athletes, but within reason, otherwise you can achieve the opposite effect: to make people completely disgusted with sports.

Recently, a stand-up show "Money. Sex. Radiculitis" appeared on the "Che" channel. The bottom line is this: middle-aged men gather in a bar to discuss the usual issues: fools, roads, education, sex, money, politics...

And, of course, sports. Responsible for this area in the program Roman Vagin- a well-known journalist and radio host.

- You can say that it turned out not just a humorous show, but a kind of social project, right?- Question Vagina.

Stand-up is popular, but for an audience of "35+" and above, there are not very many author's monologues. Therefore, we decided to make such a program where I occupy the segment of stories about sports. The first season is currently underway, and the second season will be filmed in October-November.

I don't know about the social mission. For me, the main thing is that in each of the monologues there are moments that can hook the viewer: laugh or think.

- The audience on such programs is motley. How does it feel that people are generally attracted to sports topics?

There are many options for speeches, but I refuse something, precisely because the monologues turn out to be losing in advance, because they are crammed with football terms. No one needs a narrow specialization. Need more household items. For example, a sketch: " Olympic Games in the family". Who is better at knocking out a rug, hammering nails, taking out the trash ... This format is more in demand among the audience than talking about the "double-ve" scheme.

- You're first and foremost a sports journalist. How did you get into such a project?

For me, as a journalist and commentator, this is really a new page in my biography. Experiment. I like it. I am grateful to the guys from the TV channel who gave me this opportunity.

After all, I have been running a program on the radio for several years, and the producers are football fans, and they offered to meet. Because they understand that our sport should be talked about with humor. There were ideas to create football shows, but they did not materialize. There was also a program "100 best goals in the history of world football", where I acted as a screenwriter. And then everything smoothly flowed to stand-up.

You have a solid company there: "Red Burda", " Ural dumplings", Viktor Loginov, Nikolai Bandurin. Do they have a sense of humor on the set?

In order for the product to turn out to be of high quality, it is impossible without it. Filming took place at the end of July. They worked in two shifts, and in this regard it was difficult. But the company was warm, so I hope the picture does not show fatigue.

I'm almost the youngest there. Comedians really gathered, let's say, well-deserved. And this suggests that there is a demand for such performances. This format has a great future.

I watched your performances. "Mordovia" - Ufa "is the same as a rubber woman and non-alcoholic beer" - not too harsh a comparison?

I do not think so. Recently, Leonid Slutsky called Russia a non-football country. So I agree with him. Yes, and I agree with Vasily Berezutsky, who called us in general an unsportsmanlike country.

- Aren't you afraid that if you joke about this topic, it will only get worse?

We probably shouldn't care about that. And those who are responsible for the development of sports. In the meantime, the situation is as it is today, why not make people laugh? Take the recent Euro. The whole country discussed the failure of the national team. And jokes on this topic were at the box office.
