The school and student Olympiad "Gazprom-2019" is a unique chance for the younger generation to get a prestigious and highly paid position in one of the richest companies in Russia. Every year, tens of thousands of gifted children take part in this intellectual event, who, upon passing the selection, get the opportunity to improve in the study of subjects related to the oil and gas industry.

The organizers of the Gazprom-2019 Olympics were:

  • PJSC Gazprom;
  • educational institutions of the regions of the Russian Federation.

It is noteworthy that any student of grades 9-11 or a student can participate in the event, and it is absolutely free. The registration procedure on the official website of the Olympiad will not cause difficulties even for an inexperienced computer user and takes a maximum of 5-7 minutes. After successful completion of the questionnaire, each participant is assigned his original number, after which he can start performing test tasks on the dates determined by the organizers.

Olympiad regulations

Many are concerned about the question of when the Gazprom-2019 Olympics will be held. The exact numbers have not yet been established, but the rules of the event are unlikely to change, as a result of which the event, as before, will be held in two stages:

  • qualifying stage (conducted remotely via the Internet);
  • final stage (to be held in the classrooms educational institutions selected by Gazprom).

Testing on the World Wide Web is required in order to weed out the majority of applicants, whose number has increased tenfold over the past few years. The selection participant is invited to solve several simple tasks to determine the approximate level of knowledge of the subject. Upon successful completion of all tasks, a letter will be sent to the participant's mail, which contains detailed information about the possibility of passing the next stage of the Olympiad. The qualifying stage, most likely, starts in early March, and ends on the last day of the same month.

The final full-time stage is held on the basis of schools and universities in almost all major cities of Russia (in particular, Kazan, Tyumen, Ufa, St. Petersburg, Moscow, etc.). The questions are focused primarily on an in-depth study of a specific list of subjects or specialties. In other words, there are no easy tasks, and in order to pass the test, it is necessary to show not only thorough knowledge, but also logical thinking, ingenuity, and creativity. The final stage is usually held at the end of April, and the exact dates can be found on the official website of the event.

Her main goal– selection and attraction of gifted students who are focused on engineering and technical specialties and plan their professional activities in the oil and gas industry.

Participants of the Olympiad will be able to test their knowledge in intellectual competition, demonstrate the ability for technical creativity and innovative thinking, get an opportunity for an internship and employment at PJSC Gazprom.

In the 2018-2019 academic year, the Olympiad is held ten profiles, a key one for partner universities of PJSC Gazprom:

  1. oil and gas business;
  2. electric power industry and electrical engineering;
  3. economy;
  4. energy and resource saving processes in chemical technology, petrochemistry and biotechnology;
  5. control in technical systems;
  6. radio engineering and telecommunication systems;
  7. applied geology;
  8. chemical Technology;
  9. shipbuilding, ocean engineering and systems engineering of marine infrastructure facilities;
  10. information systems and technologies.

Profiles of the Olympics

The organizers of the considered intellectual event have identified several main profiles, according to which the best pupils and students of the country will be identified. This list included:

  • product quality management systems;
  • radio and television communications systems;
  • economic security and company management;
  • technical control of processes in the oil and gas industry.

At the school level, preference is given to the exact sciences, for example, physics, mathematics, chemistry, biology. The Gazprom-2019 Olympiad for students implies a more detailed division into disciplines. The test often mixes questions from related disciplines, in particular economics and logistics, oil refining and technological maintenance of related equipment, management and financing.

Thus, the Gazprom-2019 Olympics will become an excellent platform where every gifted pupil or student will be able to apply their knowledge, as well as show positive qualities. This event helps one of the most successful companies in Russia to identify potential candidates for the position, and the best of them will be able to receive targeted training in specific specialties with subsequent employment at Gazprom. It is no secret that for many the Olympics is a unique chance to get a dream job, develop intellectual and creative potential, and plan a career.
