The best games on Xbox One. Best games on Xbox One Best racing game on xbox one

Not sure which games to buy for Xbox One? Go through our list of the best projects for this platform. If even half of these games are missing from your Xbox One library, you're missing out.

Our selection of games for Xbox One was recently expanded with Far Cry 5 and A Way Out, which impressed us with a vast open world and rich co-op gameplay, respectively. Sea of Thieves was also asking for this, but the game did not have enough depth to take one of the places in the selection - nevertheless, this is a rather fun project that deserves your attention. We will continue to monitor upcoming games and add to the list of the best titles for Xbox One.

This list is adorned with great Xbox One titles, ranging from classic titles like Forza Motorsport 7 and Gears of War 4 to many others like The Witcher 3 and Assassin's Creed Origins, which are among the most significant releases for Xbox One X. There are many truly outstanding games in every genre.

So let's take a look at the best Xbox One games. This is a relatively small selection, consisting of 25 items, which included only the unconditional favorites of their genres. And the competition among them is really tough.

Dropped off the main list

If we were told that 96% of accidents in Australia are due to the fact that drivers admire the scenery, forgetting to watch the road, we would believe it without question. All you have to do is play Forza Horizon 3, a game that will show you what your Xbox One is capable of. This is an incredibly beautiful racing simulator with carefully recreated car models and dynamic races on the roads of Australia, which will impress both avid racers and lovers of photorealistic graphics. This is definitely the best part of the Forza series and almost all time.

The brand is not strongly associated with the console from Microsoft, but this does not negate the fact that Final Fantasy 15 turned out to be one of the best RPGs of the year. It combines a vast open world, created by all the standards of Western RPGs, and the standard Final Fantasy anime atmosphere, in some places brought to healthy absurdity. This mixture works great, thanks to which we have a rich world full of ferocious monsters, huge magic crystals and powerful magic.

At times, Final Fantasy 15 seems like a jumble of ideas, but all the elements presented ( strange world, thrilling real-time combat, and lovable characters who accompany you throughout the adventure) add up to something incredible. This is perhaps the best Final Fantasy game in many years; This game fully justifies the expectations placed on it.

After numerous transfers, Cuphead finally came out and instantly became one of the best games for Xbox One - it will definitely appeal to all fans of shooters (you can find out more about it in our review). Visually, the game adheres to the cartoon style of the 1930s (in particular, the Betty Boop shorts and the Silly Symphonies series from Disney), while the gameplay was clearly inspired by projects such as Mega Man, Contra, Metal Slug and Gunstar Heroes.

The levels here are not particularly long, but the whole point lies in the complexity of the game, which requires you to be attentive and able to remember the sequence of actions of opponents. Each boss is a real test of strength, and the pleasure of defeating them is simply beyond words.

Yes, we are well aware of all the problems of this collection, but it would be unreasonable to deny the skill of its creators. The genius of Bungie and the love of Studio 343 rolled into one - this is the shortest way to describe this significant set for the whole industry.

A polished and updated collection of iconic titles, the Master Chief Collection makes you wonder if Halo has always looked this good. And you know what? At the time of its release, each part looked as worthy as this entire collection today.

The first minutes of the match Rainbow Six: Siege is more like some kind of slasher than a dashing first-person shooter. From the roof comes the clatter, which does not bode well. People who have settled in the house quickly make traps and barriers, like the hero of the movie "Home Alone". Enemies begin to ram the door, causing panic. This tension is typical of most horror games.

But once you're head-to-head with the opposing team, the game throws you into the midst of a gritty and unforgiving war scene where deep strategy comes first. Fine-tune your tactics and win in short but action-packed rounds in one of the most addictive multiplayer shooters on Xbox One.

The Halo series is known for its balance between campaign and multiplayer, but in this part, the developers focused on the multiplayer component. The story of Locke the Soldier chasing the Chief isn't as epic as we'd like, but we're excited for the most colorful multiplayer experience in the entire franchise. Halo 5: Guardians invites us to plunge into the exciting world of online battles. The good old arena, which returned to Halo, is a classic shooting ground, made according to all the canons of the genre.

If you're looking for something a little more inventive, the Warzone mode is for you, where you can expect massive battles based on a card collection system. What's more, just recently, 343 Studios announced that the new Big Team Fights mode and an updated version of Blood Gulch will be available for free. Welcome home.

Imagine a beautiful and elegant book of fairy tales... that slams shut again and again, leaving bruises and bleeding wounds on your fingers. This is Ori and the Blind Forest, a Microsoft game created by a group of retro enthusiasts who were given a decent budget (and freedom) to develop a worthy successor to classic platform games.

The game is not only a great example of how you can bring recognizable Metroid and Castlevania mechanics to modern conditions, combining it with a touching story, but also deservedly considered the most beautiful 2D project of all time. Therefore, passing by this masterpiece is highly discouraged.

Shadow of War, with its rich world and carefully crafted mechanics, is the perfect sequel - the combat is more dynamic, the environment is more detailed, and all the elements interact perfectly with each other. In addition, this is one of the most beautiful games for Xbox One X. It is worth noting the impressive scale of the project. It will take you about 15 hours to complete the prologue alone; 25 - to open the entire map, so do not think that a couple of evenings will be enough for you to complete.

The iconic Nemesis system for the series has also been improved, which now includes entire storylines dedicated to battles with orcs - the development of these heroes depends on whether they won the battle with you or not. The game also introduced castles that can be captured and the ability to create your own armies. Even if you love The Lord of the Rings, the local open world will not leave you indifferent.

FIFA 18 introduced a number of innovations to an already established formula: for example, shots from a long distance can now be more effective, and soccer ball spins in the air almost the same as in real life. The AI of opponents has also improved, and each player has acquired his own unique style of play, which must be taken into account when drawing up team tactics.

The single-player mode has also remained in place, where we have to get used to the role of the chosen player and which at times includes matches from the regular campaign. The latter, by the way, allowed FIFA 18 to bypass PES this year, because it includes the largest number sports leagues among all football simulators. And finally, the FIFA mode has been improved Ultimate Team, which can now be completed without investing real money

Wolfenstein: The New Order is one of the most brutal, fun and smart shooters of our generation. The sequel from MachineGames, called The New Colossus, confidently multiplies all the achievements of its predecessor by two. The touching story of BJ Blaskowitz is set in the 60s in an alternate universe where America was conquered by the Nazis.

Before us is a rather bold statement on the topic of prejudice, cruelty and insensitivity, which is not complete without quite appropriate humor. This is a game that makes you think, and, importantly, gives you plenty of shooting at crowds of Nazis, without being embarrassed by especially bloody scenes.

After the announcement of Battlefield 1, we feared that a failed World War would appear on DICE's resume. The fact is that bloody and tragic military conflicts from history are not the best platform for a fun shooter. However, the anthology format presented in the game turned out to be extremely successful - with its help we were able to plunge into the thick of the action, considering it from different points of view and without losing the thought of how much human lives are depreciated in war.

The story of how a British driver turns into a tanker has an incredible emotional depth that we have not seen before in Battlefield. But before us is not a tearful drama - this is an epic shooter that shows the war in all its details; and this is a unique project for the Xbox One console. The multiplayer mode, designed for 64 people, will drag you out for many months. This is a game that exceeded all expectations.

Don't let the snowy landscape fool you; it's a fast-paced action adventure with explosions, chases and great gunfights, which until recently was only available to owners of (ahem) other consoles. A virtual walk through beautiful locations gracefully flows into a fight for survival, after which it turns into stealth, leading to brutal action - we have a worthy embodiment of a video game icon, served on a grand scale by a big-budget Hollywood blockbuster.

At a time when other games are trying to impress us with weeks of open-world content, Rise of the Tomb Raider isn't shy about its nature - it's an exciting attraction rated at roughly 10 hours, but every minute spent in it will leave a lot of positive emotions. Unless, of course, you do not count those moments where Lara dies through your fault. There is little fun in this.

A list of the best Xbox One games simply couldn't be complete without Forza. Improved AI, collision system, updated controls - all this in Forza Motorsport 7 is done on highest level, as befits a decent racing simulator. The cars are a pleasure to drive and you really feel like you're in the driver's seat when you start the car into a long drift or crash into a fence. It is worth recognizing that the game masterfully corrects all the shortcomings of the previous part.

This is definitely the best game in the series that creates a realistic and exciting experience for the gamer. Of course, some of the presented races may seem a bit difficult, but if you gain experience in numerous races and various championships, then you simply stop paying attention to it.

Somewhere during the fourth act, when real hell was going on on the screen, bullets were flying in all directions, blood was gushing in rivers, and we were crushing enemies that were getting close with chainsaws and trying to kill snipers who had settled in the distance, unimaginably beautiful music began to play. As if the Lord himself sang: "I wildly apologize for Gears of War: Judgment." Apologies are accepted.

A bloodbath called Gears of War 4 introduces us to an army of new monsters, each of which requires individual tactics, and new ideas for the combat system. And this means that we have before us the first sequel since Gears 2, able to surprise fans without sacrificing excellent shooting because of the hideouts that made the series famous. And we don't need more.

Most cooperative games boil down to the fact that sometimes there are several doors in the levels that only two people can open. There are similar doors in A Way Out, only the game itself develops the concept of cooperative passage much better.

Both players are constantly given different tasks, which are necessarily interconnected and which allow you to fully feel the importance teamwork. You will find a lot of memorable scenes - from fixing a car to escaping from prison, which will eventually lead to an incredibly strong ending.

Let's admit it. The Resident Evil series has been out of its element for several years now. And this situation has obviously dragged on. After the incredible success of RE 4, which actually laid the foundation for the third-person shooter genre, the franchise began to gradually sink into mediocrity. However, in 2017, RE finally returned to its roots, reminding all its fans what real fear is. Resident Evil 7, a game-changer for the series, is a first-person survival horror game set on an old Louisiana farm where the protagonist is looking for his missing wife. Villains straight out of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre? On the spot.

Creepy body horror. One more tick. And, of course, a gripping story that won't let you go until the very end. Resident Evil 7 boldly breaks the stereotypes created in the past parts, and offers us a truly unpredictable adventure. Of course, the iconic herbs for the series have not disappeared anywhere, but otherwise it’s perfect, which makes you wander through the sinister corridors even when you most want to close in a safe room and not go anywhere.

If a shooter has the ability to run on walls, jump off them and climb into gigantic mechanical Titans on the fly, then this shooter immediately grabs our attention. Titanfall 2 just falls into this category. "Where's the single player company?" we grumbled when the first Titanfall came out in 2014. “Convinced!” Respawn responded. “Here's a sequel for you with a story about a pilot and his Titan. In it, you will gradually unlock weapons for the Titan, each of which looks like it can be used to blow the universe to pieces.

It will have a level in which you can travel through time by pressing only one button. It will feature hours of mind-blowing and inventive action that will make every shooter game since Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare look like a breeze. Are you happy now?" Yes, now we are happy. We also appreciated the Bounty Hunt multiplayer mode (a real nightmare for capitalists) and we promise not to call Respawn studio employees lazy again.

Since Valve is not going to make Team Fortress 3, why not Blizzard release it. The developers of World of Warcraft have bypassed the shooter genre before, and therefore it is still hard to believe that Overwatch has become one of the best multiplayer FPS. The game features a motley cast of colorful characters, each with abilities that are supposed to upset the balance (Tracer can rewind time!), but in reality everything works surprisingly smoothly.

That is, we can arbitrarily launch fire arrows, summon dragons, create walls of ice and rewind time without feeling like cheaters. The game is already a year old, and the only thing you can find fault with is Tracer's unnatural accent. Based on this logic, if Blizzard ever decides to invite players to dinner, it will cook so many dishes that the problem of world hunger will be solved in a matter of hours.

After the endless gameplay of the first part, which took weeks of the lives of millions of gamers, what could Destiny 2 offer to surpass the original? The answer is obvious: everything is the same, but multiplied by two. In the sequel, almost every detail - space travel, weapon collecting and MMO elements - is expanded and polished to a shine.

Every detail in the game indicates that Bungie has done a lot of work on the mistakes made in the first part, adding depth to the character progression system and diversifying the set of tasks that must be completed for this progress. As a result, we got a game in which single-player battles, multiplayer battles and leveling of the hero look equally nice.

After the previous parts, it might seem that the series simply has nothing to surprise us with, but Far Cry 5 once again raises the quality bar to a new level thanks to excellent design and a rich world. It's a more straightforward game, where routine side quests give way to the series' iconic action and mayhem. Yes, we still liberate bases and shoot villains in huge locations, but now you don’t have to spend long hours crafting or looking for towers here.

All this is left in the past, and the game concentrates on gunfights, fires and collisions with wild animals. The chosen setting is also interesting - the fictional state of Montana turned out to be quite realistic. Moreover, you can play the game in co-op, and if you get tired of it, you can always switch to the arcade level editor and create a couple of new locations.

The biggest gaming blockbuster deserves a place in the top five. GTA 5 was a beautiful and polished open-world game when it first came out, but on Xbox One it's taken on a whole new dimension with improved graphics, tons of new content, and the ability to beat up pedestrians in first-person view.

In addition, the game has acquired a fresh online component - a cooperative robbery mode. Thus, Rockstar gave us a vast and rich world in which, from the very first seconds, you can do everything that comes into your head. After all, this is exactly what we expect from GTA.

Minecraft, whose glory has not faded to this day, is a game that can be both surprisingly simple and incredibly complex. Whether you're building your world in creative mode or trying to make it through another day in survival mode, Mojang's masterpiece generates unique and unrepeatable situations every time. This is a world in which you can spend an eternity.

Moreover, this world is constantly evolving, delighting us with new textures, new gameplay features and other improvements that erase even hints of stagnation. If you associate Minecraft only with the ubiquitous green blocks, then it's time to catch up.

4 Assassin's Creed Origins

Assassin's Creed Origins is the long-awaited reboot that the series needed so much. And it turned out exactly the way we hoped. In addition, the game can be safely called one of the reasons to buy the Xbox One X console, because the updated graphics look just amazing. This Assassin's Creed has evolved into a full fledged open-world RPG with character leveling, creative kills and malleable gameplay. An adventure in ancient Egypt will please many with a mass of side quests, details and secrets that can be searched for days on end.

And the redesigned combat system works great in tandem with a fully customizable equipment system. (Dual blades and a poisoned shield? A health-boosting sword and a bow with controlled arrows? You can craft them all with no problem.) Throw in a witty story line and an impressive amount of options for completing each mission, and you have the perfect reboot of the Assassin's Creed series, which, symbolically, tells about the birth of the Assassin order.

3. Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain

If we were not familiar with the history of the creation of this game, then we would confidently say that Konami developed the last part of Metal Gear Solid without the participation of Hideo Kojima, since the game is very different from the past creations of the master. Yes, it's not without the series' typical in-jokes, crazy mechanics, and even crazier conspiracy theories that seem to have been gleaned from the depths of the internet, but it's clearly not one of those games that Kojima usually comes out with.

The shift in focus to a massive open-world setting with multiple missions has not only made the game a masterclass for all stealth action developers, it has also given players the freedom to choose – in effect, we have become the directors of our own spy movies. Did you manage to pull off an intricate multi-level heist? Know that scripts have nothing to do with it - this is solely your merit.

Things didn't go according to plan, and you had to detonate the explosives planted in the enemy base, and then fly into the sunset on a mechanical chicken? So, at this point, you were the author of the script. In the past, many have noted that Hideo Kojima enjoys quoting his favorite films more than creating games. But MGS 5 proves this judgment wrong - Kojima wants us to quote our favorite paintings ourselves. And we will gladly spend several hundred hours on it.

From the very beginning we knew what to expect. Something massive and something buggy, because we are talking about Bethesda. Fallout 4 is an example of natural evolution - it is a game in which sometimes pointless exploration of the world, pleasant humor and a system of moral choice from the previous two parts side by side with elements new to the genre. This, of course, is not a revolutionary breakthrough, but the voice acting of the main character, and (shock!) The ability to not look into the boxes to take their contents, definitely benefited the game.

Do not think that the periodic drops in the frame rate and bugs of varying severity are left overboard, but you are already less angry with them, because the game skillfully juggles the attention of gamers, switching it from one detail to another. Studio Bethesda once again packed into one project material that could be enough for a couple of games of different genres, presenting us with perhaps the most intense game of this generation. Once you run it, you'll be stuck in it for weeks.

Arguably the most addictive RPG of all time, featuring a distinctive and memorable storyline, a branch of contracts, each of which surprises more than the last, and a set of amazing side quests, some of which in their depth surpass the stories told in most modern games. The world of The Witcher 3 really deserves to be called a world - it is full of political intrigue, its own folklore and, of course, monsters that need to be cut into small pieces.

A separate advantage of the project from CD Projekt RED is a set of completely free DLC, the first of which, Hearts of Stone, we officially call the reason that the game got to the first place in this collection. This is a beautiful, inventive and iconic game for the genre, which will not be forgotten in decades to come.

With the November 2016 update, Forza Horizon 3 has taken its first place and is firmly holding the previously set high standard for the racing game genre. Powered by the ForzaTech engine (also used for Forza 6), Forza Horizon 3 is the most advanced XBOX ONE exclusive, having held the lead since the XBOX 360. Thanks to Xbox Play Anywhere, PC gamers will also be able to enjoy PC-based gameplay. with Windows 10.

The best graphics of the vast world around with the beautiful landscapes of Australia this time impresses with the quality of graphics. Models of cars and objects of the surrounding world are drawn superbly. Unlike its predecessor (Forza 5) with the lack of game content, Forza Horizon 3 is rightfully the best racing game on this moment. Many players will prefer Project Cars specifically as a simulation, but Forza Horizon 3 is the most advanced game out there, featuring exactly the integrity of the racing genre: 460 cars, 26 circuits, night racing, rain, 24 cars per race, and an upgraded multiplayer system that makes it less difficult for beginners . Plus, you'll get stunning 1080p graphics at 60fps and the perfect balance of realism/playability. The 10th anniversary of the Forza franchise on Xbox really hit the spot.

Project CARS

While Forza Motorsport 5 was a disappointment for gamers for a couple of key reasons, Project Cars managed to avoid those issues and deliver a truly advanced product, albeit one that's not without its launch issues and delays, fueling the excitement of Xbox One racing fans. Unlike Forza, which has an advantage in video quality, which focuses the efforts of developers on the graphic component, this game is not so good in this regard. For some reason, the video resolution in Project Cars has been reduced to 900p. It is quite possible that this was done to achieve 60fps as well. You get 16 cars in the race and a decent selection of real racing tracks world level.

The set of tracks is probably the star of the Project Cars show: you get a choice of not just big and famous tracks like Silverstone, Dubai, Le Mans, but also some lesser known ones like Cadwell Park in the UK. As an increase in the level of difficulty, you can even choose the famous Cadwell track, originally designed for motorcycle racing - a narrow and difficult route will require skill. The first days of Project Cars' launch were filled with problems, but most of them were resolved fairly quickly, and at the moment this game takes its rightful place for fans of realism in the genre of racing simulators on Xbox One.

F1 2016

Especially for fans of the Formula 1 world series, F1 2016 is the sequel to Codemasters, which contains all the licenses to experience the real world of the most popular open wheel racing in the world.

The F1 2016 calendar features all the races, tracks, teams, drivers and titles that can be found in the real races of the series. F1 2016 is a really worthy racing game on Xbox One for immersing yourself in the world of glamor, chic and glitz of racing, rightfully called royal. Experienced series players will find the opportunity to hone their skills and improve their cornering speed on real world championship circuits without leaving their Xbox One.

Trackmania Turbo

Racing doesn't always have to be realism, luxurious environments and never-ending lists of cars, sometimes it can just be high speed and thrill - that's the niche Ubisoft's Trackmania Turbo game has chosen. Based on the principle of "time attack" and defying the laws of physics, this furious racing game offers well-designed entertaining racing gameplay for Xbox One.

Trackmania Turbo provides a range of cars and tracks to choose from for racing alone or with friends online. If you're looking for some racing fun on Xbox One, Trackmania Turbo provides a truly worthy option, free from rocky career paths and the need to level up to keep playing.

What gamer doesn't like fast driving? Of course, there are some, but they are probably the exception. Most players will not refuse to try their hand at arcade racing or a serious car simulator. If you like to explore big open worlds in your favorite car or race laps at insane speeds and you have an Xbox One, then we hasten to rejoice: the console is a real paradise for racing fans. In this ranking of the best racing games for Xbox One, we will help you choose the game that suits your taste.

The environment is very diverse: you can climb deep into the jungle and wild forests, cut through the beach in your favorite car or ride into the rural outback from the bustling metropolis. No one is forcing you to strictly follow the story: explore the world of Forza Horizon 3 to your heart's content. If you want - participate in competitions, pass tests, but not - just explore the world and ride.

The game perfectly combines the realistic controls and physics of the Forza Motorsport series with rich networking options and a sea of game fun in one bottle. Owners of the upgraded Xbox One X console and 4K TV will enjoy even more detailed game graphics.

The best serious car simulator

Forza Motorsport 7

Those who prefer a realistic driving model and classic racing in a circle, find the game of their dreams in the Forza Motorsport 7 project. The seventh part of the series has an even more advanced physics engine and will amaze you with a level of realism never seen before. The game includes a large number of tracks for races (both fictional and real), more than 700 cars and endless possibilities for tuning and upgrades.

With a massive single-player campaign, customizable game modes, and enhanced online features, Forza Motorsport 7 gamers will love it all.

Best rally racing

Dirt 4

Speaking about the best racing games for Xbox One, Dirt 4 cannot be ignored. The project is suitable for those who are not indifferent to the rally type of racing. Whether you like arcade racing or serious car simulators, the game will offer you two types of controls to choose from. The level of difficulty and intelligence of the AI is also adjustable, as are other race assistance options. Due to the low entry threshold, every gamer will enjoy the game.

The career structure in the fourth part has become friendlier, the number of game modes has increased, and the emphasis has been placed on fun rides - Dirt 4 will suit those who expect exciting gameplay from racing.

Best Action Race

Split/Second

Split/Second is one of the most underrated racing games in history. With backwards compatibility on Xbox One, you can now enjoy this extraordinary action racing game on Xbox One.

Split/Second is a life and death race show. You have to rush at full speed through the tracks full of dangers: something explodes from all sides, and opponents put spokes in your wheels. If you want to win, you often need to be aggressive and knock your opponent off the circle before they knock you out. The project is ideal for players who like to get adrenaline during virtual races.

Best stunt racing

Burnout Paradise

Another game available on Xbox One through the backwards compatibility program. Burnout Paradise is considered by many players to be the best game in the series, and it was simply impossible not to include it in our list of “Best Xbox Van Racers”.

Of course, the game has drawbacks: the lack of fast movement around the map and the inability to place markers on the map. But all the flaws are more than paid off by the gameplay. The developers have taken the open world for which the series is so famous and put more than 100 different racing events into it. Take part in challenges or simply explore the map: the world of Burnout Paradise can only be called a paradise for virtual racers. Yes, and we have not yet said that you can do absolutely unimaginable tricks in this game.

The best car racing and more

The Crew 2

In the list of "The best racing games for Xbox One" there was a place for a game in which you happen to drive not only cars. The Crew 2 will allow players to race on land, on water and even in the air! The variety doesn't end with the choice of mode of transport: you can also choose from several sports disciplines. Say, if you like freestyle - choose it. Racers and motocrossers will also enjoy plenty of races in virtual Los Angeles.

You can buy games, and you can in the PiterPlay store.
