The arena is located on the top floor of the sports complex and includes three running tracks in a circle 200 m long, two straight tracks 80 m long, four wrestling mats, a sector strength training, 2 tennis courts (netted) and a climbing wall.
The coating is rubber, hard. The turn is very steep, wrong, with a large angle of inclination - it is very difficult to run long tempo segments and the right leg may hurt. The warm-up track is highlighted in green. There are several horizontal bars, Swedish walls, old barriers, not enough space for a warm-up.
A runner should come to the arena after 17:00, when student couples are over. Accordingly, on Saturday until 15:00 there is also not overcrowded. It is cold inside the room, especially in frost in winter, it is better to take warm clothes with you to warm up, otherwise you can catch a cold. On the other hand, it is comfortable to carry out intense workouts. The ventilation is natural, there are no air conditioners, balconies are opened for ventilation.

However, until now, for ordinary amateur runners, the path there is closed.

10. Track and Field Arena of Moscow State University

Prior to this, the building was restored in the early 2000s and opened in 2005. The condition of the hall was good, the new tartan turned out to be of high quality, but there was no ventilation system at all. They always ran with the windows open, including in winter. For athletes, there were two tracks in a circle + a narrow inner track for warming up, three straight tracks for running at a distance of 50 m. By the time of closing, the running belt was very dull, in some places there were patches. Inside the ring was a tartan blue long jump track. It was possible to use barriers, mats, Swedish walls, horizontal bars, bollards for jumping. On the basement floor there was a gym, where there were old but reliable simulators, a barbell, a short bar.
There was a heavy workload in winter, since not only the central section of the aircraft trained there, but also all physical culture groups Moscow State University.
Changing rooms with lockers were located on the second floor. There were no showers, only a toilet. By the time they closed in May 2016, they were in a deplorable state.

Pluses of CSKA: large, there is something to breathe, a good elastic track for high-speed training, a lot of accompanying elements for athletics.
Cons: high price, dressing room with cockroaches, shower disgusting, broken, open until 21:00, there is no normal wardrobe and the opportunity to hand over your things. Lots of kids involved.

CSKA is too far from the metro (about 1.5 km) and very expensive, although the time is not controlled. Advantage: there is a warm-up track and jogging on it, and “work” can be done on a 200-meter circle. The slope of the turn is specific - it is good only when fast run, at a pace slower than 4 min / km it is inconvenient.

The arena is good and spacious. Cons: remoteness from the metro, high price, stuffy and uncomfortable locker rooms. Showers with cockroaches. Difficulty navigating the corridors. Extremely incomprehensible and long procedure for paying the entrance ticket. First, you wait in line at the terminals (there are only two of them!), then you need to go to the administrator to approve the ticket, to the security guard, and only after that you are allowed into the arena.

The modern arena at the Moscow Civil Engineering University opened in September last year. As stated on the website of the university, in addition to students, "professional athletes - members of national teams of various levels, and residents of the north-east of Moscow will be able to train here."
